  9. Your brain is being invaded!  Nanobots (tiny robots created with
  10. nanotechnology) have been surgically implanted into your cerebral cortex
  11. to reverse the negative effects of television on your central nervous
  12. system.  After repairing the damage, the Nanobots were supposed to be
  13. destroyed by your immune system, but something went wrong.  While repairing
  14. the brain, the Nanobots began to grow smarter and decided they wanted to 
  15. live -- at your brain's expense.  Now they are feeding on your brain's grey
  16. matter and growing smarter still.  You must find a way to destroy these

  53. The registration price for BrainWave is only $19.95.  We pay shipping and
  54. handling.  There are many ways to register:

  56. 1.  REGISTER ONLINE AT DEXTERITY SOFTWARE'S WEB SITE (Credit Cards Only)
  57.     The fastest and easiest way to register is to point your web browser to
  58.     http://www.dexterity.com and fill out our on-line order form.  We
  59.     accept VISA and MasterCard.

  61. 2.  REGISTER BY EMAIL (Credit Cards Only)
  62.     Fill out the file ORDER.FRM found in your BRAINWAV directory, and email
  63.     it to orders@dexterity.com.

  65. 3.  REGISTER BY FAX (Credit Cards Only)
  66.     Fill out the file ORDER.FRM found in your BRAINWAV directory, and fax

  70.     To register BrainWave by mail, simply print out the registration form
  71.     and mail it with your payment.  You can either print out the file
  72.     ORDER.FRM found in your BRAINWAV directory, or you can print the order
  73.     form from within the game by selecting "Game | Print Order Form" from 
  74.     the main menu.

  76. 5.  REGISTER ON COMPUSERVE
  77.     If you have access to CompuServe, GO SWREG to enter the shareware
  78.     registration database, and register PRODUCT ID 8182.  CompuServe will
  79.     bill your account directly and notify us to ship the game out to you

  83. A NOTE ON SPEED
  84. ---------------
  85. If BrainWave's graphics performance appears slow and choppy on your
  86. system, you can try the following to improve its speed:
  87.  
  88. - If you are running applications in the background that are
  89.   consuming CPU time, close them before playing BrainWave.  BrainWave
  90.   will perform best if it doesn't have to share CPU time with
  91.   other applications.  If you are running spreadsheet calculations
  92.   in the background, for instance, BrainWave's performance may
  93.   decline, depending on the speed of your system.

  95. - BrainWave performs best at 640x480 resolution in 256-color mode.
  96.   BrainWave will run in higher resolutions and at higher color modes,
  97.   but performance may suffer on slower machines.  Use the Windows
  98.   Setup program to verify that you are running Windows in 640x480
  99.   resolution with 256 colors.

  101. - Try disabling BrainWave's sound effects and/or music.  You can turn
  102.   these on or off through BrainWave's Options menu.  When the music or
  103.   sound effects are turned off, graphics performance will improve
  104.   slightly because BrainWave will automatically use the extra CPU
  105.   time to enhance drawing speed.

  122. DEFINITION OF SHAREWARE
  123. -----------------------
  124. Shareware distribution gives users a chance to try software before buying 
  125. it.  If you try a Shareware program and continue using it, you are 
  126. expected to register.  Individual programs differ on details -- some 
  127. request registration while others require it, some specify a maximum 
  128. trial period.  With registration, you get anything from the simple right 
  129. to continue using the software to an updated program with printed manual.

  132. copyright holder retains all rights, with a few specific exceptions as 
  133. stated below. Shareware authors are accomplished programmers, just like 
  134. commercial authors, and the programs are of comparable quality.  (In both 
  135. cases, there are good programs and bad ones!)  The main difference is in 
  136. the method of distribution.  The author specifically grants the right to 
  137. copy and distribute the software, either to all and sundry or to a 
  138. specific group.  For example, some authors require written permission 
  139. before a commercial disk vendor may copy their Shareware.

  141. Shareware is a distribution method, not a type of software.  You should 
  142. find software that suits your needs and pocketbook, whether it's 
  143. commercial or Shareware.  The Shareware system makes fitting your needs 
  144. easier, because you can try before you buy.  And because the overhead is 
  145. low, prices are low also.  Shareware has the ultimate money-back 
  146. guarantee -- if you don't use the product, you don't pay for it.
